I Don’t Live Here Anymore voting facts:
• This marks the third time The War on Drugs has captured the top spot in the Ants AOTY
• They previously took the crown in 2014 for Lost in the Dream and 2017 for A Deeper Understanding
• They join Radiohead (2007, 2016, 2000s) as the only three-time winner of Ants AOTY/AOTD. Other multi-year winners include The National (2013, 2010s) and Bon Iver (2011, 2019)
• The only album this year to receive multiple first-place votes
• Finished just 1.25 raw points ahead of Brandi Carlile, but appeared on one more list, which made the difference between finishing in third and finishing in first
• Also War on Drugs' closest margin of victory, right around 140 total points. For comparison, Lost in the Dream won in 2014 by almost 600
• Appeared on 7 of our 12 lists, which tied with Julien Baker’s Little Oblivions for the most
• Early returns favored Julien Baker, Tyler, The Creator and Lucy Dacus (“the top three are pretty tight right now”), but I Don’t Live Here Anymore jumped up to the top and kept holding on as more lists came in (“one album is definitely starting to pull away”)
• 150 different albums were submitted this year
